Building Your Habitat Legacy
Planned gifts provide the resources that create extraordinary opportunities for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati's work in the community now and into the future. Naming HFHGC as a beneficiary in an IRA, life insurance policy, other financial account, or in your will is a simple way that you can provide for Habitat's future stability and growth.
Legacy Society Membership Benefits
All donors who indicate in writing that they are including HFHGC in their will or estate plan are eligible for membership and the following benefits:
- Legacy Society acknowledgement certificate
- Recognition on the website and in HFHGC publications (with permission)
- Invitations to special Habitat event
Bequests
A bequest in your will to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is a simple way to ensure that your support for the mission continues after your lifetime. You can specify a dollar amount or percentage of your estate, a specific property or asset, or the remainder after distributions to other beneficiaries.
Sample bequest language:
“I give and bequeath to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, a nonprofit corporation (31-1185975) located at 4910 Para Drive, Cincinnati OH, [a sum of money, percentage of my estate or description of the gift].”
Other legacy gifts
You may also want to discuss with your attorney or financial planner whether gifts of retirement plan assets, life insurance, charitable lead/remainder trusts, or other vehicles may be beneficial to your own financial and estate planning needs.
