The Pope Leo Village
“In that service to others we may find that coming together in friendship, building up community, we too can find true meaning in our lives.” —Pope Leo XIV

Inspired by Pope Leo XIV’s commitment to serving others, peace, and unity, an anonymous donor has generously stepped forward to rally Greater Cincinnati youth—alongside volunteers from all walks of life—to construct 9 affordable Habitat homes in the Botany Hills neighborhood of Covington, KY.
The Pope Leo Village is you—youth groups, faith communities, friends, and neighbors joining side by side to do essential work, crafting safe and welcoming homes where families can grow and thrive.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is proud to introduce the Pope Leo Village campaign.
This new, multi-city initiative is sponsored and inspired by an anonymous donor committed to Pope Leo’s vision and commitment to serve others. Greater Cincinnati is the second to launch this initiative after Chicago, the Pope’s original hometown. It will center on the construction of nine homes in the Botany Hills neighborhood of Covington, Kentucky. The goal of the Pope Leo Village is to inspire and activate young people—and all our neighbors in Greater Cincinnati—to volunteer and financially support the work of Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati invites Catholic schools and faith communities to join in this building endeavor. Youth, neighbors, homebuyers, and the wider Greater Cincinnati community will come together to build relationships and create opportunities for affordable homeownership.

Anyone moved by the new, U.S.-born pope are welcomed and encouraged to serve others through the Pope Leo Village campaign—donate, fundraise, and volunteer.
Building More Together
At Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, we don’t do anything alone. When you donate to Habitat, you’re a part of something bigger. Through this initiative, hundreds of individual donors across the country are choosing to put their faith into action by becoming a part of the Pope Leo Village in their cities. Here in Greater Cincinnati, we are off to a great start. Our goal is to fully fund and build nine homes in Covington. We need your help.
We know that the need for affordable and attainable homeownership opportunities in our community is only growing. By joining with others in this unique initiative you can make a real large-scale impact. We know that everything—stable childhoods, health, higher education, overall wellbeing—all starts with a home. Together, we are building a stronger Greater Cincinnati.
