“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is a Christian ecumenical ministry with an open-door policy welcoming volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds. We embrace the “theology of the hammer” by setting aside theological differences, picking up a hammer, and building together.
There are many ways to get involved with us and put your faith into action.
Coalitions are churches and businesses working together to fund and build homes every year. They are composed of every type of faith group and love working alongside Habitat Homebuyers.
Thank you to the following coalitions for putting their faith into action and helping build safety, security and self-reliance through shelter to families in need in the tri-state area.
Eastside Coalition | HOPE Coalition | Loveland Coalition | Madisonville Coalition | Shalom Coalition | Sycamore Coalition
INTERFAITH PROJECTS BUILD RESPECT AND UNITY
People of diverse faiths are called to help the poor, serve others, and make the world a better place. Respect and friendships are formed as we work together in a spirit of humility and cooperation while living out our faith.
Your gift goes far in supporting Habitat’s mission to put God’s love into action, by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Your financial gift helps to build homes and hope throughout the tri-state area.
Include us as a local ministry partner and support with regular donations or designate a special offering. Consider Mother’s or Father’s Day collections to empower Habitat homebuyers in providing stability for their children.
Engage congregation members by hosting a fundraiser such as a car wash, lemonade stand, fish fry, or spaghetti dinner to raise additional funds. Invite the youth of your congregation or anyone interested in contributing their spare change through our House Banks to help build houses.
Volunteer at one of our ReStores, on a build site, for special projects and events like Rock The Block, or provide an occasional lunch for volunteers.
Is there a young professionals or young adult group who would like to grow as servant leaders by working together with their peers on a build site?
Is there a retired group in your congregation who want to serve on a regular basis during the week?
Weekday groups accelerate home building by volunteering Wednesday-Friday.
Consider a “stay at home” mission trip that can involve your entire congregation in the local Habitat mission.
Habitat International Day of Prayer is the third Sunday in September every year.
