The Home Depot Foundation Sponsors Repairs to Veteran Norman’s Home

ree

Air Force and National Guard Veteran Norman has resided in his Covington home since the 1960s. Despite watching the neighborhood change over the decades, his home has remained a place of comfort and pride. For Norman, homeownership represents stability — protection from the elements and the peace of mind of not having to worry about rising rent.

When problems arose with the structure of his back deck, stairs, and entrance, Norman hired three different contractors in hopes of getting the work done properly. Unfortunately, each attempt left him disappointed. That changed when he applied for Habitat for Humanity Greater Cincinnati’s Veteran Repair Program, made possible through the support of The Home Depot Foundation.

“These guys, they fixed me up pretty good,” Norman shared about Habitat’s repair team. “They worked really hard. I never knew this could get done that quickly.”

Norman encourages other qualifying veterans to apply for Habitat’s Veteran Repair Program, sharing how grateful he is for the support and care he received. After being let down by multiple contractors, he had nearly lost hope that his home could be repaired properly.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of The Home Depot Foundation and their ongoing commitment to serving those who have served our country, Norman can continue living safely and independently in his home of almost 60 years.
