- Women Build | Habitat Cincinnati
women helping women build a strong foundation Women Build Habitat homeownership creates strength, stability, and independence through shelter for families in our community. Our annual Women Build brings together friends and colleagues from across our community to raise funds, walls, and awareness - creating an affordable homeownership opportunity for a family in Greater Cincinnati. Happening May 2026 Women empowering women through homeownership. We know that, together, women have the power to transform lives. Over the span of a month, groups of women will join together to raise funds, walls, and awareness to help a single mother achieve her dream of homeownership. We need your help. Get involved. Contact Ashton Willson ashton.wilson@habitatcincinnati.org , 513-482-5612 for more information. Get Involved Why Women? Women in our community are disproportionately impacted by the rising cost of housing. Women and children are more likely to be affected by poor living conditions than men. Women also face more barriers to stable housing than men in similar economic situations. Men earn more on average than women, resulting in access to higher credit, better loans and better quality homes and neighborhoods. Unequal caregiving responsibilities limit a woman’s ability to dedicate the necessary time to obtaining and maintaining consistent employment and decent housing. Single women are denied mortgages at higher rates than single men, despite the fact women are more reliable at paying back mortgages. How Women Build Helps Through Women Build you can make access to affordable homeownership possible for local families in need. Last year, the majority of the families served through Habitat Greater Cincinnati's homeownership program were single mothers who had been living in unaffordable or overcrowded housing. Together with your support, we can help women in our community build strength, stability and self-reliance by becoming first-time homebuyers. Habitat homeowners help build their homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. That mortgage won’t exceed 30% of a family's income, widely recognized as the threshold for affordable housing, making it easier to afford nutritious food, pay for necessary medical care, and save for the future. Together we will empower women, empower families, and empower communities. Learn More Meet the homebuyer family. Meet Taleah Mitchell, a single mother of four. Taleah works two healthcare jobs to provide for her family. When asked about what this home means to her she said, "With this home my kids can be free." Why Habitat? Habitat builds and renovates decent, affordable houses for people who make between 30%-80% of the area's median income. All partner homebuyers must demonstrate a reliable source of income as well as invest at least 200 hours of sweat equity in their home and in education classes. Houses are sold at no profit with a 0% interest, 30-year loan. The homeowner's mortgage payments are reinvested to build more Habitat homes. Affordable housing solutions help local families in need provide a stable, sustainable environment to build a better future: Children of homeowners are 25% more likely to graduate from high school, 116% more likely to graduate from college, and will earn 24% higher incomes. Homeowners are 28% more likely to vote in local elections and engage in civic, school, and community groups . Homeowners are 34% more likely to have a retirement account. Affordable housing (less than 30% of income) frees up family resources for other important expenses like nutritious food, job training, and healthcare expenditures . No expereince necessary. Any woman who wants to learn how to build a home is invited to join. No experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and it improves the community that you share. Women Build is a terrific way to involve your friends and family of all ages in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. You can also come alone and make new friends. The atmosphere is collaborative and friendly. Get Involved Donate You can support the life-changing effects of homeownership for female-led households, providing them with stability and security for future generations. Donate Today! - FY25 Annual Report | Habitat Cincinnati
Fy 2025 Annual Report: Habtiat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati. FY25 Annual Report together, we build the future. Annual Report | July 1, 2024- June 30, 2025 Introduction | Homeownership | Repair | CTP | Rock the Block | Supporters | Financials Dear friends, This past year has been a remarkable chapter in the story of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati. Together, we celebrated the construction of our 700th home - a milestone that represents the strength, stability, and hope created when families have a safe and affordable place to call home. And our impact extends beyond Greater Cincinnati through our Global Village work helping families worldwide realize the same dream of safe, decent housing. Each house we build is a testament to the power of partnership and the generous support from friends like you. As we reflect on this achievement, we also look forward with a bold vision. Our commitment to the traditional Habitat model of building one home at a time remains strong. The homes we build alongside future homeowners, volunteers, and community partners will always be at the heart of who we are. Yet, we also recognize the growing scale of the affordable housing crisis in our region. To meet that need, Habitat Greater Cincinnati is preparing to expand our impact through larger, multi-home developments and new construction technologies that allow us to create more opportunities for families and transform entire communities. We are not doing this work alone. As the largest nonprofit homebuilder in Greater Cincinnati, Habitat Greater Cincinnati is increasingly at the table in bigger conversations that shape long-term housing strategies across our community to address the shortage of affordable housing. Collaboration has always been part of our DNA, and today it is more important than ever. By partnering with neighborhoods, municipalities, and other housing leaders, we are helping to set a new standard for affordable housing - sustainable, community-driven, and transformational. It is a privilege to walk alongside individuals and families as they achieve their dream of homeownership. As we look at the path ahead, it is being built - literally and figuratively - by all of us. We hope you will continue to follow our progress, advocate for our vision, and support in the ways you can. Afterall, none of this would be possible without you. FY 2025 PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS ROCK THE BLOCK East Price Hill | April 27-29, 2025 3 days . 140 volunteers . 7 projects . 4 Habitat homes . 3 roof replacements* *through referrals to the Critical Repair Program Scaling our Mission In January, Habitat created a new department spearheaded by Jason Chamlee, Vice President of Real Estate Development. This strategic shift allows Habitat to take on opportunities for larger scale developments while continuing to also build with our traditional model. This year, Jason’s team laid the groundwork for collaborative community developments including affordable homeownership. With the rising cost of housing and the decreasing rate of homeownership, we must build more. Your support has allowed us to be bold. Together, we are building stronger and more inclusive communities. In 2025, Habitat built 5 homes on a single block in East Price Hill changing the landscape of the street. "Habitat builds stable affordable housing that allows families to build generational wealth through ownership. For a family, homeownership is transformative. Beyond the individual family impact, we’ve seen that when we coordinate our efforts and build homes in a concentrated area, the impacts are compounding—increased stability and safety for an entire street . We are already the largest nonprofit homebuilder in the region—responsible for about 10% of Cincinnati’s affordable housing production. By scaling up, we can make an even greater systemic difference. Our vision is an era of leadership—where affordable homeownership can be part of every community development plan. Because Habitat homeowners deserve to live in affordable homes AND thriving neighborhoods. My role is to build partnerships and structure for growth so that we are positioned to say ‘yes’ to bigger opportunities.” Jason Chamlee Vice President of Real Estate Development Learn More NEIGHBORHOOD INFILL MODEL Habitat Homes are built alongside larger scale projects Image (15) Millcraft P&G Elected Officials Veteran's Build Sponsors Habitat Young Professionals Shalom Coalition's 30th Home Habitat Advocates Memorial for President Carter ReStore Donors and Shoppers Construction Training class and volunteers Real Estate Community Build Hope Coalition Lunch Volunteers Women Build community of support YOU MADE IT HAPPEN $4,067,421 in ReStore sales to help build homes in Greater Cincinnati. $810,759 the value volunteers gave to the organization. 32% of individuals have given to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati for 5 or more years. 12,131 people donated items to the ReStore. 4,571 individuals supported Habitat financially. - Volunteer Pope Leo Village | Habitat Cincinnati
Join the Pope Leo Village Volunteer Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity’s mission brings people together to not only build homes, but to build communities, and hope. The homes sponsored by the Pope Leo Village campaign, like most of our homes, will be built with the help of volunteers. By working alongside homebuyers, staff, and other volunteers, participants build authentic connections and break down barriers that often divide our society. The Pope Leo Village is YOU —youth groups, faith communities, friends, neighbors joining together. A special invitation to young people. In a recent message to young people gathered in Chicago, Pope Leo encouraged the group to pay attention to the true longing within themselves towards a life serving others. Pope Leo says, “in that service to others we may find that coming together in friendship, building up community, we too can find true meaning in our lives.” The words of Pope Leo align with the mission and spirit of Habitat for Humanity. The Pope Leo Village initiative offers an opportunity to inspire both Catholics and non-Catholics to participate in a meaningful experience serving others and participating in the meaningful act of building communities. We invite individuals who are at least 16 years old to join us on site! There are lots of ways to get involved: Gather a group to volunteer together. Connect Habitat with your youth group, school service coordinator, or other youth-service focused group. Ask friends and family to sponsor your volunteer day.
