City of Covington: Partnership & Impact

ree

Over the course of three days, over one hundred volunteers came together to make meaningful improvements for seven homeowners and a local school during Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati’s Rock the Block event in Covington, Kentucky. Volunteers repaired and refreshed the exteriors of homes throughout the Botany Hills neighborhood, completing projects such as deck repairs, paint touch-ups, landscaping, and spreading gravel in partnership with the neighborhood. Teams also worked at Prince of Peace Catholic School, making long-wanted interior improvements that will create a brighter environment for students and staff alike.

These projects were made possible through the incredible partnership and generosity of the City of Covington. The city’s support was essential to the success of this event. We are especially grateful to Mayor Ronald L. Washington and other city leaders who not only championed this effort but also joined volunteers at the kickoff to show their encouragement and care for the community. We also would like to extend our gratitude to the numerous city employees that helped us overcome unexpected challenges and answered our questions along the way.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is truly proud to partner with a city that values its people and neighborhoods as deeply as Covington does. Together, we are building stronger connections, revitalizing homes, and creating communities where families can thrive. We look forward to continuing our efforts in Covington with the continuation of our Pope Leo Village project and celebrating the community that makes Covington such a wonderful place to call home.
