- Donor Advised Funds | Habitat Cincinnati
Donor Advised Funds What is a Donor Advised Fund A donor advised fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving account. When you make a charitable contribution to the fund, you receive an immediate tax deduction. Then you can recommend grants to nonprofits over time. DAFs are often established through community foundations, financial institutions, or employer-sponsored programs. Why a Donor Advised Fund Might Be Right for You You want to simplify giving across multiple charities. You have a high-income year and want to lock in a tax deduction now. You want flexibility to support causes over time. You want to give appreciated assets without triggering capital gains. You want to involve family members in charitable decisions. DAFs can also be used to complement or replace a private foundation. As with all gift planning, you should consult your financial adviser and lawyer to help you get started with recommending a grant to Habitat for Humanity. Your donor-advised fund gift to Habitat will help families across Greater Cincinnati build a better life. Information Your Financial Institution Will Need Legal name. The homes sponsored by the Pope Leo Village campaign, like most of our homes, will be built with the help of volunteers. By working alongside homebuyers, staff, and other volunteers, participants build authentic connections and break down barriers that often divide our society. About Us Why Habitat Goals & Financials Leadership Where We Build Careers AmeriCorps Program Events News Botany Hills (Covington) Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is working with The City of Covington to build 9 homes in the Botany Hills neighborhood in Covington. These are our first builds in Northern Kentucky in about 6 years. Located just north of Devou Park, these homes will be located less than 2 miles from the Covington Business District offering new homeowners many nearby opportunities for employment, entertainment, and recreation. These homes are sponsored by the Pope Leo Village campaign. About the homes: 8 homes on John Street and one home on Parkway Ave. Construction is currently underway and will continue through 2026. All of the homes will be built on infill lots where historic homes once stood. Because each lot is unique, our architecture team has worked to select models that suit each lot. All the homes have at least 3 bedrooms and will be both one- and two-story homes. Two of the homes will be adjoined to form a duplex. Like all the homes we build, these models were selected to compliment the style and characteristics of other homes in the neighborhood. Program Details Like all Habitat homes, the Botany Hills Covington homes are income-restricted to those making 30-80% of the area median income. Habitat homebuyers will work alongside staff and volunteers to build their homes and will purchase the home with a 0% interest affordable mortgage that is at or below 30% of their income. Program Qualifications: 30-80% AMI. First-time homebuyers. Willingness to build their own home. Debt to income ratio under 40%. Currently living in inadequate housing (overcrowded, unaffordable, unsafe) Application Process: The first phase of homes were matched with future homebuyers in the Spring of 2025. Applications for the second phase of homes will open in late Fall 2025. Learn more about buying a home with Habitat Greater Cincinnati. Pope Leo Village
